  • Sometimes Avast Antivirus may be blocking you from running a program or accessing a web page, which you know is totally safe.Usually, it’s because of the low application occurrence within the Avast community. Therefore, Avast can’t properly tell if the program is safe or not, and will try to protect you.

Hi,
I have an iPod Touch 3rd gen 64GB running OS 3.1.2 and a Acer laptop running Vista Business. I was using a previous version of iTunes (downloaded in January 2010 when I bought the Touch).
I was having problems with McAfee so I uninstalled it and replaced it with Avast Free and ZoneAlarm.
I then added some new songs to my iPod Touch. After this sync all album artwork disappeared from the Touch (the sync on Sunday was normal without any problems). I read on this forum that the best option is to remove all the songs and video's from the iPod and sync them again. From then on things just went from bad to worse. iTunes now kept hanging and it reflected as 'not responding' in Task Manager. I had to do forced shutdown of the laptop to restart the machine. I reset the iPod 3 times as well. I them downloaded the newest version of iTunes and installed. This did not solve the problem. iTunes was not responding once again and after another forced shutdown, I got the following message when logging into Windows:
'AppleSyncNotifier.exe failed to start as CoreFoundation.dll was not found'
I then tried a repair of iTunes, which also did not solve the problem. The iPod is working fine and all applications launch as normal. It just does not have any songs or video's on it. I did not try to restore the iPod as I am scared that if iTunes once again hangs, it will corrupt the iPod. As I live in South Africa we do not have access to the call centers and Apple Stores.
The only other option I can see is a complete wipe and re-install of the laptop, but I dot want to go to such drastic measures.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
